hands and knees

hands and knees

As of yesterday, Noah has firmly mastered “forwards”!  This doesn’t mean he’s crawling, rather, he’s developed his own technique based on sheer determination.  He does a push-up, then a bear stand on his hands and feet, then a faceplant into the carpet.  And repeat.  Each time gets him 4-6 inches forwards, until he can grab that kitty.  Or a toy, or an electrical cord, but usually it’s the kitty.

My friend G stopped by today with her son, who is about 15 months old, and we both followed him around my house as he found everything that isn’t childproofed.  Luckily I’m still faster than Noah for a bit.

Aw… mobile baby! Yay! You need to start taking little movies and putting them on youtube.

So, are Noah and Patina getting to be friends? I was surprised that part of bedtime is taking the cat out of the crib, and this method of moving towards her just sounds like trouble…

Noah’s mode of travel is definitely all his own and really worthy of a movie!

We do have “crawling” video now, but I need to figure out how to get it off the video camera, which I’ve never tried before. I think we missed our chance to video this supercute thing Noah was doing with his tongue- he was smacking his lips with his tongue stuck out as far as it would go, which I think he was just practicing an eating technique that he was working on. It was sure adorable, but he only did it for two days.

If Noah only move 4-6 inches at a time, the cat has lots of opportunity to get away before he grabs her. I am sure his approach style can’t be described as “stealthy”. That must mean she likes (or at least tolerates) his attention.

    I vote for movies too!

    Nice quilt Mom.
