the ‘saurs

We’re actively trying to get Noah into dinosaurs, because they’re fun for us, too.  So we’ve watched some dinosaur shows, and talk about dinosaurs, and Noah’s favorite t-shirt has a dinosaur made out of words.  Most of his preferred shirts have horizontal stripes, like Steve from Blue’s Clues, or are orange or red or have kitties, and his all time favorite sock is his orange kitty sock (the other one is missing).

But back to the dinosaurs- a few days ago, we were at the dinner table and Noah told me he saw dinosaurs outside.  He said there were saurs in the front yard and in the den, and honestly he looked kind of upset.  We’ve been a little worried about him having bad dreams lately, so I was afraid that he would start to get scared, so I really wanted to make it sound ok that we were surrounded by dinosaurs.  We were planning to go give them some apples, but then Noah decided they would rather have cookies.  So since then, whenever the saurs are in the den we have to pick a snack for them.  If they’re outside, I usually just let them play in his snow fort- which has shrunk to about half its original height, but it is real solid after weeks of semi-melts and freezing rain.

When we were at Noah’s grandparents’ house, he picked up the phone to pretend to talk.  First he talked to his friend Kathryn- when he gave the phone to me, I told him she was having her mommy read her a story.  Then he talked to his friend Julia- I told him she was taking her bedtime bath.  Then he talked to the saurs- and he told me they were playing soccer.

I think Mom or Jen needs to get Noah this shirt

and bring it down when you go to visit. Orange, with a horizontal stripe, and a dinosaur!

That is cute! But I’m adjusting to how Noah is no longer outgrowing his clothes every 3 months- we need to quit acquiring stuff until he is a lot bigger because his drawers are stuffed!

Hmm, Maybe I shouldn’t have let him watch Jurassic Park…..

Why Dave? Is he trying to eat lawyers? A few imaginary soccer-playing dinosaurs sound like fun to me.

I don’t know if this will help or not, but I recommend going to , clicking on “videos,” and then scrolling down to the 3rd video: “Dinosaur in My Backyard.” It’s a fabulous song. When you come to San Diego, we can even go hear Steve (Mr. Hullabaloo) perform sometime. He’s fabulously fun.
